During the Musical Fountains Show you can discover and enjoy the extraordinary beauty of the Château de Versailles gardens, of groves exceptionally open to the public and of its fountains playing to the tune of period music. For 350 years the success of the Fountains has never waned. It is your turn to discover or rediscover them, with friends or family.
The gardens were at the heart of King Louis XIV's attention and are world famous today. Already at the time of the King's reign, the Versailles groves were open air saloons secluded at the heart of the wooded parts of the garden. The court went there for a light meal, to listen to music or to dance. The King could satisfy his taste for gambling and theatre in these sites dedicated to entertainment and leisure. Decorated with fountains, vases and statues, these groves with their secret access bring fantasy and surprise within the Royal Garden. These green bowers are now exceptionally accessible for you to discover.
The talent of the 17th century fountain engineers and of their successors has always made the Musical Fountains Show an unforgettable and fairytale experience. The fountains play with multiple special effects and marble and metal gods, humans and animals seem to come to life for a few moments, for our greatest pleasure. When the fountains are playing, a ballet comes alive to enchant each and all.
Your royal stroll will unfold to the tunes of the greatest baroque composers from Lully to Charpentier or Rameau.

Practical information
Paying access from 9 am to 7 pm
All Saturdays and Sundays, from March 31st to October 28th 2018.All Tuesdays from May 22nd to June 26th 2018.
The Gardens close and are evacuated at 6 pm 30 and 31 March, and 5.30 pm 16, 23 and 30 June, 7, 14, 21 and 28 July, 4, 11, 18 and 25 August, 1, 8, 15 September and 28 October 2018.
Groves open from 9 am to 7 pm.
Musical displays from 10 am to 7 pm.
EXCEPTIONAL DATES

Wednesday August 15th 2018
Water displays:
- Mirror Fountain: water display every 10 minutes from 10 am to 7 pm.
- Neptune Fountain: water display every 15 minutes from 10 am to 5 pm, and then from 5.45 pm to 7 pm (On weekends and public holidays) and from 10 am to 7 pm (on Tuesdays and Friday March 30th).
- Water Theater Grove: water display every 15 minutes from 10 am to 7 pm.
- Weekends and public holidays: water displays from 11 am to 12 am and from 3.30 pm to 5 pm.
- The finale of the show takes place from 5.20 pm to 5.30 pm.
