Presentation
Over a decade, the Bulgarian soprano Sonya Yoncheva has become the queen of the world's most renowned stages.
With her velvet voice and brilliant high notes, flawless articulation and imperial breath, her stage presence makes her a major incarnation of the heroines of the repertoire, where she is as brilliant in baroque as in classical and romantic repertoires. For this recital with the Versailles Royal Opera Orchestra, the diva returns to her love of Handel: in 2011 she sang Cleopatra in Julius Caesar on the stage of the Royal Opera. Here she is in a Handel programme, an anthology of dramatic arias in which her sumptuous voice works wonders, under Stefan Plewniak's conniving and twirling direction. The guarantee of a baroque and glamorous concert!
