Ballet for 12 dancers created at the Festival du Temps d'Aimer in Biarritz in 2006.
Bach and Vivaldi never met. However, after discovering Vivaldi's concertos, Bach transcribed them himself for organ or for various instruments, as this new form allowed for lyricism and endless rhythmic vitality. The intermingling of movements from Bach and Vivaldi concertos is therefore conducive to the most beautiful Baroque choreography. And devoting half of the programme to the famous Four Seasons is an exciting challenge for choreographer Marie-Geneviève Massé, an exceptional specialist in Baroque dance. With the dancers and their costumes swirling in the steps and figures inspired by the 18th century, she has created a show in which the Royal Opera Orchestra shines with all its instruments, with Stefan Plewniak's solo violin carrying off the effervescence of Vivaldi!
