What if the life of Christ could be summed up in three concerts, with Bach's sublime music? This is Raphaël Pichon's artistic challenge, as he inspires his troops with the extraordinary energy to perform three days of masterpieces. First, the Nativity, with the exuberant Christmas Oratorio where the joyful calls of the shepherds resound in the divine child’s night. Then the Passion, in St John’s poignant account, which Bach renders with confounding clarity and an urgency that only grief can stop. Finally, the Resurrection with the vigour of the Easter Oratorio, and the Ascension Oratorio which brings Christ's earthly life to a splendid close. A sublime evocation showing Bach to be a master without equal.
